Born in Texas in 1962, Tom Ford went on to become arguably the most influential designer of the last decade. In 1990, Ford joined the Italian company GUCCI and in 1994 was promoted to creative director. In his first year at Gucci, the profits soared and Tom Ford was called a genius.
In 2000, Gucci bought out YSL Rive Gauche and appointed Tom Ford to take up the design responsibilities of YSL Rive Gauche ready-to-wear.
As his first major initiative after splitting with Gucci, Tom ford launched his eyewear line, which consumes the majority of his creative energy.
